Not forgotten
Roger, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well and thank you.

Insanity
I was with Roger when he was killed. I knew him only a few weeks. He was the driver of our armored personnel carrier, and though he had arrived a few months before me he had the air of an experienced veteran. He was friendly and very willing to show me the ropes. He talked a lot about his wife back home.
On easter morning we were involved in an intense fire fight. When the track commander was wounded, Roger did not hesitate to take his place in the cupola behind the .50 caliber machine gun. Moments later he was instantly killed by a bullet to the head. A future lost, and a family devastated by the insanity of war.
