REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR RAMEY LEO CARPENTER
POSTED ON 6.8.2013

If I should die...remembrances for LT Ramey Leo CARPENTER, USN...who made the utlimate sacrifice!!!!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vgiils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Ramey was my father.

I hope he would be proud of me today. I wish I had gotten the chance to have a relationship with him. I wish I could hug him. I have only the memories of others who have shared them with me. They all say he was a wonderful, caring person and someone I could be proud of and I know in my heart that is true.
