Ewing Street's Our Gang

I grew up with Dude Carpenter, as he was known in our childhood neighborhood on Ewing Street, Indianapolis. In this picture, Dude is 4th from the left, back row. His sister Jackie is behind him. We lived outdoors until it was too dark to see, playing hide-and-seek, PIG and HORSE at the alley basketball hoop, catching fireflies, and wherever our imaginations led us. When I watch "American Graffiti" ..... I think of Howard. He was my "Millner" as a young guy....and I will never forget how hard his sweetheart Lamona Everly....cried. I am 63 now....but the pain of his loss to us all remains. Godspeed Howard..... And "Thank you" for taking me under your wing and being my friend,
