Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Troy Monroe Carnline, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

In Memory of Troy

This Marine was Killed in action during an ambush at the Que Son River Valley, Quang Tin Province, Vietnam, on the evening of 5/3/1967, along with 13 other brothers, due to the poor judgement (stupidity) of the A. Co., BLT. 1/3, CO. Capt. Hendricks, during Operation Beaver Cage-Union. They were ordered on a water run without taking precautions and the NVA Army surprised us. We operated out of the USS Okinawa LPH-3 doing heliborme assaults. All that knew him can be very proud for he did his part. God Bless you Brother. Rest in Peace. L/cpl. Antonio Ramos -USMC-ret.
