Freedom's Sacrifices

Every night I hear the bugler play TAPS while on Fort Drum base and I stand still in quiet reflection during those moments in honor of the men and women who sacrificed their lives in service and support of our freedom.

As an adult I understand that our freedom isn't free but I didn't realize it at the time my cousin Terry Abbott's life was sacrificed during his Marine service in Vietnam, as I was just a child & only a two months shy of 9 years old.

I am writing on this virtual wall of remembrances to honor your memory, Terry, and thereby honor the daily freedom I enjoy because of you and those like you. Remembering your life's sacrifice will always be more than a timely Memorial Day reflection.

Rest in peace, Terry.

My uncle I never met

Terry, I never got a chance to meet you because you were killed 8 years before I was born. Even though you were gone you hold a special place in my heart. I know you would of been an amazing uncle. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Nate

**if anyone reading this served with my uncle, PLEASE email me. I would like to speak with you about who my uncle was during his time in Vietnam. Thank you
