Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT James Kenneth Alles, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

POSTED BY: His Family
Photo
Because of the 23-year age difference between her oldest and youngest children, mom often said that she had two separate families. But our brother Jim was a middle child and grew up in both. He was the cherished baby brother for us three oldest siblings, and after we left home, he was the big brother that our two youngest sisters looked up to. We all miss him dearly. One of his family roles was resident chef. Referring to Jim’s specialty, Dad used to say that ours was “the home of crispy pizza”. And sister Nikki recalls “They were the best pizzas I had ever eaten”. His pizzas always symbolized a special family gathering or celebration.
