To the #1 Sfoch, from a Dilberts Vet

Dom and I worked together in Dilbert's Supermarket in Brooklyn. He was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I remember him trading barbs with his cousin Tom and eating lunch with him at the diner next door. I was saddened to hear that he gave his life for his adopted country.

I later served at Tan Son Nhut AB in 1970-71 and was fortunate that I I did not see combat. I visit DC often and always pay my respects to Dom when visiting "The Wall"

RIP buddy

Crash Information on U.S. Army helicopter UH-1D tail number 65-10089

As the aircraft started out of the LZ, the pilot was given all clear. The aircraft started up and the skids caught on a cargo net. The aircraft started falling to the right and suddenly fell to the ground on the left side and rolled. A small fire was extinguished. One of the crewmen, SP4 William L. Dornbergh Jr., was killed in the crash. The three other crewmen survived. Tragically, six passengers also lost their lives in the wreck. They were 1LT Edward S. Fisher, PFC Charles D. Allen Jr., PFC Loren C. Surles, SP4 David R. Cushing, SP4 Domenico Cacciola, and SP4 Alan James Ruddell. [Taken from vhpa.org]
