Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Charles Byrd, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Fellow Classmates of The International School of Bangkok 1966 remember Chuck Byrd

Dear Chuck, though you died on 05/25/1968, in that "crazy Asian war" (from a song we used to listen to in Bangkok 1969 (it wasnt me that started that crazy assian war), you will always have the heart of all that knew you-Jim Yoder, Bill Clarke, Roger Saunders, Dick Dickenson, Bob March, Tony Naldrett, and many others, we will not forget your sacrifice, your patriotism, your valor. You were always such a sweet quiet guy, we loved you, and for you to die hurting, hurts. You are in heaven, the only place for you, hopefully we will all join you there in the next few decades. God Bless you Chuck and your sister, and family wherever they are today, with all our hearts Marine, I salute your valor forever, Bill Clarke, remembering you on the 50th Anniversary of the death of our beloved President John F. Kennedy.
