I remember and will never forget

I was the guy who taught Bust to take my place when I was transferred back to Brigade HQs to take over the Brigade LRRP Team. He was a brother that I will never forget. If I had not taken that transfer, I always think that he took the bullet that was meant for me. I will never forget him. He lives thru me. Rest in Peace my Brother. I will live with his memory forever.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Michael Bustamante,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. As another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering you

Mike, I remember vividly both the day you were shot and the day when the awful news came to us in the field about your death. Alex, Steve, Wendy, me -- we were all in shock. On days like today, Memorial Day, I still think of you and all the other guys we lost. Rest in peace.

Still got you in my heart

Never fails Michael every time Veterans Day rolls around memories of you fill my mind of the great times we had in our youth. Especially playing little league baseball you had the nack of playing pro, because of that it made me play even harder - those were good times brother. I also recall the mischief we use to get into and the girls. Life was great during those times with you man, I do miss you. I know I will see you again in Heaven some day.

Your friend,
Ric Q

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Michael Andrew Bustamante, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
