Happy 4th of July & God Bless America

Our country has the privileges of freedom, because of people like James Burke.

My Dad and Great Aunt only saw my Great Grandfather cry a few times in there life, and the one time was at his his grandson James Burke funeral.

I can't imagine this kind of loss, but I pray that it strengthens the Burke's clan faith and family.

Thank you & God Bless
Brian Hoffman

In Loving & Proud Memory

The traveling memorial wall will be here in San Diego this weekend down on the US Midway. My brother Jason and I are going to remember our Uncle Jim. He went to training camp here in San Diego (MCRD). I've never met my Uncle Jim. He was already gone from this earth before I was a twinkle in my Dad's eye. I am extremely proud to share my Uncle Jim's Burke name and pray to him often. He has given me strength and courage through all these years.....I know it wasn't me alone - I have a great support system up there in heaven and my Uncle Jim is at the front of the parade.....

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC James Robert Burke, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
