Thank You

Dear Captain David Burch,
Thank you for your service as a Rotary Wing Aviation Unit Commander - Helicopter Pilot. You earned many awards. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Distant relative

Remembering one of my many cousin's who went to that dreadful place. My nephew's came back thankfully but you dear one, did not. You will never be forgotten. I have visited the wall and touched your name. I know you were there looking back at me saying, my how you have grown. Be at peace cuz and know you are remembered.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear Captain David Carroll Burch, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Remembrance

We were from different schools but his friends and my friends played basketball together on week-ends. His family farmed produce and I worked at the Produce Auction Market so we would see each other and talk during the summers. I did not know we were at the same base camp until he was killed in a helicopter crash in the Mekong Delta where we operated. He was pilot of a gunship for the 191st Assault Helicopter Company. His call sign was Bounty Hunter 6. He died on Sept 3, 1968.

If I should die...remembrances for CAPT. David Carroll BURCH, USA...who made the ultimate sacrifice!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.
