Thank You
Dear Soldier, I want to thank you for the great
sacrifice that you have paid for the freedom of every
American citizen. I am a student at Gridley High
School in Gridley Illinois and we are doing this as a
Gridley High School Posting Project for world history.
I on the other hand am doing this as much more than
just a student with another assignment that has to be
done. To me this means a lot more because I had an
uncle that was in the Vietnam War, and he about lost
his life in battle. I appreciate the actions that you
took in trying to keep our country safe and secure.
It is just a great feeling to know that we are being
protected by people like you that are willing to lay
it all down on the line and pay the ultimate sacrifice
for this reason. I thank you again and may God Bless.

Remembering...
Going into my senior year I have learned about Vietnam and how it was such a tradegy. Guys like John A. Bullpitt will be missed. It hits home when this man graduated from and lived in North Providence. On April 28th, 1966 this man gave his life for out nation, and that's something we'll never forget.

A Memorial
In reading an old newspaper that the Providence Journal printed of one week's dead from Rhode Island in Vietnam I came across John. In hopes to preserve his memory, I am including more information about his life. John was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Bulpitt of North Providence, Rhode Island. He graduated from North Providence High School in 1962. He reminds me a lot of myself for I am going to graduate in 2001. He was also the 12th Rhode Islander to be killed in Vietnam. I just want people to know that we have not forgotten about John and I will always hold him dear to my heart for he has given the greatest sacrifice to this great nation of the United States of America.
