Memorial Day
Memorial Day 2009
While my thoughts of you come often, this is the day those thoughts overpower all the others. Rest well knowing you gave your all and your memory lives on in the hearts of your family, your comrades in arms, and your platoon leader.

I still miss you after all these years
Bull,
I still miss you after all these years. I will never forget the time we spent together while you were in my Squad in the 1st Platoon 3rd Squad of Bravo Co 1st Bn 5th Inf Reg 25th Div out of Cu Chi 1966. We sat on the same Ambushes, walked the same Patrols and drank from the same canteens until that bad day in the Boi Loi Woods on the 7th of May 1966. You always were a strong Kid and you hung in there till May 30th 1966.

A good guy.
Freddie was a good guy. He was an upperclassman in shop class in high school and a helpful friend. I looked up to Freddie and he was always there. He struggled in school, but may have been simply caught in teen angst type of issues. I know he was brave in battle, guys like him always are. He shouldered his load. He wrote me one letter from Nam, and noted in 1965 the strange way of patrols who went the same route everyday, and everyday would be sniped and boobie-trapped, made no sense to him. He was the first casualty from Patrick County, VA and is interned at Stella Christian Church cemetary, I attended the funeral. He was a great guy.
