Ground Casualty

SP6 Nicholas E. Bruznack was a Medical NCO serving with Headquarters & Headquarters Company (HHC), 6th Convalescent Center, 43rd Medical Group, 44th Medical Brigade. The 6th Convalescent Center was a rehabilitative and medical treatment care facility located on the South China Sea at Cam Ranh Bay, RVN. The 1,300-bed center provided rehabilitative care for injured G.I.’s. Patients could remain in-theatre for treatment as opposed to returning to the U.S. for recovery. Bruznack, a 12-year Army veteran, was in his third month in Vietnam when he died on September 17, 1967, after reportedly taking his own life. He was thirty-two years old.
