Distinguished Flying Cross Award

Captain Charles David Allen was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight. He served as a Rotary Wing Aviation Unit Commander and was assigned to HHB, 4TH BN, 77TH ARTILLERY, 101ST ABN DIV.

On today, the 50th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army as a Cobra Pilot with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam fighting the NVA. Remembering

I did not know you personally, but I know you’re son Charles David Allen lll. I know him as Trey and he grew up with my sons. You would be very proud of him. He is a Great young man. RIP Brother we will not forget!
