Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Remembering Harry Brown

While his formal name was Thomas, he was always called Harry in his hometown of Lenni, PA. He was a great friend and teammate. He was an excellent centerfielder and shortstop. He was inducted on 6/25/69 and after basic training was sent to Fort Sill. He earned the Army Commendation medal and a Bronze Star while working 105MMs at Tan Tru. He was selected for Non-Com training at Dong Tam and was serving there. He was either hit by mortar file or killed as a result of a hit and explosion at the base during the 1969 TET Offensive. All Harry ever wanted was to enjoy weekends at the Jersey shore and have a few beers. He was sorely missed by everyone that knew him.
