Eagle Bridge Remembers
Eagle Bridge is a small town in upstate New York where Stan lived his early years. He attended Cambridge Central School there. Stan had two brothers who also served in the military - Floyd and Wesley; and four sisters, Frieda, Lucille, Rosalyn and Esther.

Brother - Too soon absent
Thank you, Stan for serving our country in VietNam. Thank you for telling us about the happy-faced children you encountered over there and the puppies you found near base. Thank you for not telling Gram Stewart how bad things really were. She and Muriel loved you very much as all of your family did.
Although you were 23 years old on November 1, 1969, you will always remain the kid who cracked all of us up at the nightly dinner table telling your jokes and tales.
I remember the seven year old boy who drove me in Wesley's jitney full of cider apples through the orchard and down the hill to MUCH BIG trouble.
I remember the nine year old boy who grossed-out his 4th grade teacher by showing her how a cow licks her snotty nose.
I remember the college boy who carried a tiny kitten home from Lake Placid inside his jacket and who asked Muriel & Gram about him in every letter from boot camp, OCS, flight training and from VietNam.
We are all very proud of what you did while we knew you.
I still miss you.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear 1LT Stanley Alton Brown, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
