Was My Uncle

Neil died way before I was born. He was my mom's older brother. Attached is a photo of him. It saddens me that I never was able to meet him. I am honored to be related to him.

Comrade in Arms

I was with Neil the day he died; his foxhole was next to mine. It was dusk and getting dark fast when there was a direct hit on his foxhole by what we believed was a Rifle Propelled Grenade (RPG). I think he died instantly and another solider with him lost an arm. Neil was not with the unit all that long so I didn't know him that well but he seemed like a good person who served his country well and just wanted to return home in one piece. We were all brothers in arms and a loss of one was a loss for all. We should all pray for Neil and all the brave men and women who made the supreme sacrifice for their country, may God bless them all.

I carry his name

My parents were friends of Neil Shipp Brown in SLC. When he was killed 02 May 1969, my parents decided to name me after him when I was born three weeks later. I am honored to carry his name which I have personally visited on the wall in DC. If anyone has any information about Neil Shipp Brown I would love to hear from you.
