I will Always Remember You

I will always remember you for your kindness. Even though we grew up on the same street we never really got to know one another. You were a couple years older, my parents were strict, and I was so very shy. However, a about month before you died we were on the same bus, I was going back to school and you were going back to Vietnam. For the first and last time we talked like old friends. You were so kind and gentle and funny! I thought about how we were and then you were gone but I had a special moment with you that I will never forget.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Arfien Clifford Ali, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
