Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 David Allen Brown, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

never forgotten

I am the wife of your brother Donald Cliff Isaacs Jones. From the day I met him I knew who you were. Your mother Betty made sure that you would not be forgotten. The stories she told of you made me feel like I had always known you. Our daughters will pass on your story to my grandchildren and so on. You will always be remembered David Allen Brown. You may not be here but you are here in spirit and feel you are right here with us each and every day

Remembering you on Veterans Day

Taps

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the hills, from the lake,
From the skies.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.

Go to sleep, peaceful sleep,
May the soldier or sailor,
God keep.
On the land or the deep,
Safe in sleep.

Love, good night, Must thou go,
When the day, And the night
Need thee so?
All is well. Speedeth all
To their rest.

Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day, And the stars
Shineth bright,
Fare thee well; Day has gone,
Night is on.

Thanks and praise, For our days,
'Neath the sun, Neath the stars,
'Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know,
God is nigh.

In memory of David Allen Brown

David and I met at school in 1966. We started seeing each other and were planning to be married when he got out of service. He has never left my heart or mind. I miss him to this day. He was my one true love. He was a very responsible young man. A great help to his mother and siblings. He may have died at 18yrs of age, but he was more of a man back then..than I have known since. He had great character and never told me or let anyone else tell me why he signed up for service when he did. I never knew the whole truth until 1975. I will always love and cherish his memory.

Dear Cousin

When you died, I was just a little boy of 5. But I remember going to your funeral, completely bewildered by what had happened and was happening. I just wanted to let you know that you are not forgotten as long as I live, and I'll pass the word to my son. Thanks cousin for your service, which served as an inspiration for me.
