"Randy" Brooks, the Life-Love of Jerri Dellinger

I will be 73 this March (24') and still remember you from our school days. I also remember your true love during our school days, Ms. Jerri Dellinger (Fouts). I am so sorry that you paid the ultimate price of a misguided war that was a plague on our generation. I can say that because I was there in 1971, and learned of your sacrifice when I arrived home. I am so sorry you didn't get to live your life fully that you and Jerri certainly deserved. Please know that you are Remembered and in that regard, you are still with us.

Ground Casualty

On September 13, 1968, LCPL Steven R. Brooks, CPL Vernon D. Jones, and SGT David A. Mahan were traveling in a 6x6 truck with other Marines in the vicinity of Tuy Loan (2) in Quang Nam Province, RVN. A friendly M26 grenade was accidently dropped in their midst and exploded. Brooks, Jones, and Mahan suffered fatal injuries in the blast. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]

THANKS

Dear Lcpl Brooks,
Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. It is another summer, as time continues to pass since Vietnam. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
