Thank You
Dear Sp4 Roy Zufelt, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I researched you on your 54th anniversary, sad. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Vietnam War Veteran Day – we remember you, and the end of Lent. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 Roy Glenn Zufelt, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

Ich vermisse dich
I first met Roy in March 1966 in Wolfsburg, Germany. I joined him there as his second companion on his mission for the LDS Church in North Germany. Roy did not speak much German at that time but he could understand very well. Our landlady's daughter, Ellen, understood English very well, but she refused to speak it. She and Roy got along very well as he spoke English to her and she answered him in German. He had a great sense of humor and was a hard worker. Unfortunately, our time together was only a few weeks, as Roy was soon transferred. I lost oontact with him thereafter. Having served myself in the USAF during the Viet Nam era in Berlin, Germany, I am awed by Roy's sacrifice. Sometimes God takes the best ones early. God bless Roy Zufelt and his memory!
