Still thinking of you
We were so young and alive that warm Spring day at Fort Huachuaca, Arizona, just weeks before going to Nam. You were such a gentle young man, I couldn't understand why a Loyola graduate would want to be in the infantry and you told me it was because you loved the out-doors. We flew to VietNam together and we said goodbye at LongBinh, you going to the First Cav and me to the First Field Forces. I looked for you a year later at CamRanh Bay and couldn't believe it when I learned you were gone. I still think of you John, and hope you are where the sun is always shining. Your buddie.
