You will always be remembered

I will never forget the day my dad told me you gave your life in service. I was still a teenager and the impact your life and death had on me will last my lifetime. I was so sad that we lost you but so proud of you. Your example made me try to be a better person as I grew up.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear HN Gary Norman Young, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

From a Childhood Friend

Gary we knew each other from Hayhurst Grade School. I am so sorry we lost contact, but you shall always be alive in my memories from those wonderful years of that wonderful youth. Gene Ferguson (173rd Airborne Brigade//Vietnam 1966-68)
