Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Cyril Thomas Yeckley, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you PFC Cyril Thomas Yeckley, for a job well done!

It's Heroes like you, that made it possible for others like me, to return home and lead full and free lives!

REST IN ETERNAL PEACE MY MARINE FRIEND

I met him when I was an impressionable young man. To a young lad at the age of eleven, he looked like a giant of a Marine. Someone I wanted to mold myself after. He spit and polished his boots until he could see himself. He cleaned his weapon until he could eat off of it. He displayed the "Manual of Arms" and demonstrated them with crack proficiency. Yes, this man was a real Marine and the best part of all, he was my Uncle. A brand new member of our family that was swept away just as quickly as he had come into my life. I remember him. And on this Veteran's Day , we all remember their supreme sacrifice.
