Fallen Serviceman

My name is William Pezzullo, and I am a senior at Bishop Hendricken High School. This year in my Vietnam class we are all doing a project on a fallen serviceman. We drew names out of a hat to see which serviceman was ours. I drew Charles Yaghoobian. for this project we are to gather information about our person. If anyone knew Charles it would be great if you could email me so that i can learn more about him and his story can be told.

Thanks

He wanted to fly.

I was in the same Marine Corps Basic School class as Charley Yaghoobian. I remember him the most as he was the first graduate from our class to be Killed In Action. It was ironic, as he originally intended to go to flight school, but his eyesight wasn't strong enough and he became a "grunt officer" like most of our class.

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knew him or from any of the USMC Basic School that graduated in August, 1967.

A Friend

Charlie and I were in the same class at URI and in the ROTC program. When we were commissioned, he took his in the USMC. He was a strong in build but gentle person. He looked like a Marine poster.
I did not know it at the time but we were in Nam at the same time. I did not learn of his death until I returned home. It hit me hard because he was the best.
I think of him often and visit him whenever I am at the Wall in DC. We mourn the loss and what might have been. He will never be forgotten.
