I am a senior at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois. As a class challenge, I am remembering all those who have willingly gave up their lives for this country. I can’t imagine the hardships you encountered or even begin to realize what you went through. You are a hero to all and will not be forgotten. Thank you Robert.

My name is Phoenix Marr and I am a senior at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois. My history teacher challenged all of his students to write remembrances for those of the men and women who gave their lives while fighting for our country. Although I did not know Robert personally, I know that he put forth all of his courage, strength, and integrity.
