Thank You

Dear A1C David Woodruff, Thank you for your service with the 19th Air Commando Squadron. I researched you on the 57th anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Presidents' Day Weekend. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Maintenance Buddies

David and I were "cube" buddies at Tan Son Nhut AB in south Viet-Nam assigned to the 19th Air Commando Squadron working on C-123K aircraft. Our barracks was divided into cubicals and we were "cube mates". One night we were working on the same aircraft checking out an engine problem. After shutting down the engine "Woody" got out of the plane to place the chocks around the landing gear and walked through the Propeller while it was still turning. He was partially decaptitated. I found him thrown up against the fence behind our aircraft. He was a good friend.

Friend & Fellow Airman

I served in the same squadron as Woody in Vietnam 1967. We were all young men doing a job and serving our Country with Honor. I have a “rubbing” from “The Wall” in DC hanging on my Military Wall in remembrance of my friend from so long ago.
