honoring you.....

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear PFC Douglas Wingert, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Valentine's Day is soon. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Gone too soon.

I am sorry we never had a chance to meet. You are my half brother. You were taken way too soon from your family.

"I went through basic training, AIT, and the troopship to nam with Doug. We ended up in the same squad in nam and had our choice of weapons, either a grenade launcher or an m-16. As I was about 10 lbs heavier we decided I'd carry the grenade launcher as the ammo was heavier than the 16. On the fateful day of Doug's death our weapons put us in different places during the firefight. That's enough war story for now." Richard Hall
