Thank You

Dear Sgt Willie Wilson, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Today is Groundhog Day. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Uncle and Sergeant

Uncle Willie Gene,

I never knew you as a Sergeant but I did know you as my Uncle. You were a very nice man as I was a young girl and you always made time to talk to me.

I want to thank you for your service. I want to think that you would've been proud of me to follow your footsteps by joining the Women's Army Corps and retiring from the military. I went to your military funeral and I never forgot it. While I was in the National Guard I volunteered to be on the Honor Guard to help families get through their loved ones military funeral. I understand how hard it is on a service members family when they are put them to rest the last time.

I wish I would've known you better but we lived in Florida and you lived in Alabama.

Love and Miss you,
Loretta J Starling Draper

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Willie Gene Wilson, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
