Have a Great Ride Up in Heaven, Cowboy!
Mike Wilson was my boyhood neighbor in Beaver County, Oklahoma. Although he was about eight years older than me, he and I rode together on a couple of roundups. I remember one time after a long tiring day in the saddle, Mike jumped off his horse, took off his boots, and ran the last mile back to the bunk house because he was getting ready for football season. He was a tough guy.
The sixties didn't quite make it to Beaver County. When Mike came home in a box, all five schools bussed the kids to his memorial service. Thank you, Mike!
