Gone but not Forgotten

We often talk about the years when we were young, and the fun we had on homemade rides. I have not forgotten when you sleepwalked? and cut the cake. Or when we danced at Edwards.

Baby Cakes

The last I laid eyes on you I was leaving out of the chow hall and you said "see ya later baby cakes". That was 46 years ago. I've carried your Wall rubbing, along with 3 other buddies lost, for decades. RIP and see ya later baby cakes.

Remembering an American Hero

Dear SGT Walter Lee Wilson Jr, Sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say 'thank you', for America, for those who love you, and for his son.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter (son of Sgt. Ardon William Carter, 101st Airborne, February 4, 1966, South Vietnam)
