honoring you.....
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

And though we wish it could have stayed...

Uncle Bill
Today, your nephew (my uncle) retold the story of your life, and we reflected on the sacrifice you made for our country. As your great niece, I’ve known about you my entire life. I’ve been told about your big grin, joyful spirit, seen pictures of you, and even collected a rubbing of your name off of the Wall. But, today, I felt more connected to you than ever before. Thank you for the example of bravery and selflessness not only to our country, but also to our family! You are still loved. You are still missed. You are still honored and your legacy continues through us daily.
