Thank You
Dear Maj John Williams, Thank you for your service as a Tactical Aircraft Pilot. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Martin Luther King Day. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

Old friend
John and I met in grammar school. We shared a love of airplanes and vowed we'd both become pilots. Somewhere along the way, I followed a different path. John, we called him Johnny Reb but I can't remember why, kept his eye on the prize. Rest easy, old friend, and thank you.

Missing you still
I will never forget the way you came into my life and made it so special for the time we were together. I still read your letters once a year as I have done now for almost 50 years and each time I learn something new about the war and about the meaning of love. You have my heart. Alice aka Me

Always in My Heart
Even after all these years I find it so hard to think of you without crying.
Mom was devastated when you died, you were her only son. You left behind a lovely wife and three beautiful little girls. We all miss you dearly.
I remember the Easter you found the golden egg with a ticket inside for a free flight. You were in love with flying from then on. You drew airplanes on very scrap of paper you could find, even on your homework. You were destined to be pilot.
You jointed the California National Guard while you attended college always with your sight set on jointing the Air Force and flying. I know you loved being in the military and serving your country.
I am very proud of you and the sacrifice you gave for all of us. But it does not lessen the pain of never seeing you again or losing my only brother.
Thank you John for loving to fly

Remembering An American Hero
Dear Major John Vinson Williams Jr, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
