Remembered

Dear Lt. Breski,
Thank you for your service as a Rotary Wing Aviation Unit Commander - Helicopter Pilot with the 1st Cavalry. Mike was 1st Cav, say hi to him. Independence Day is approaching, and it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT Joseph Breski Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT

Joseph;

Sorry I never got to shake your hand or meet your family but I feel that I've known you all my life. I served in Vietnam in 1966/1967 with the 199th light Inf. While in the States I was stationed at Fort Rucker (Aviation Center), Alabama.
In May, 1967 (while serving in Vietnam) I had the hardest time of my life in being told that I was going to be a Military Escort for a fallen Soldier. That Soldier was my wife's Brother-in-law, Sgt. Ronald Young w/1st Cav. I escorted his remains to the States and after 30 days went back to Vietnam to finish my tour. It's always on my mind, I am always thinking about Ronald and every Soldier that made the ultimate sacrifice. It's extremely difficult ( even 47 years later ) doing this remembrance to you. I want to tell you, that even though I never met you I have this enormous Love and Respect for you. REST IN PEACE.

30th Anniversary of the “Wall”

Joe. I read your name again for the 30th Anniversary of the “Wall”. I read WO Sam Bosenbark’s as well as Sgt. John D. Sharp’s name. I will continue as long as I am able. I wanted to read your name so that you know I did not forget you. I am attaching a picture of Karen Poxon, Bob Poxon’s sister. What a fitting place to meet her and remember the two of you and the sacrifices that you all made.

I know that you are with Mom and Dad now. I guess I had to give Mom up. It was hard but I guess you wanted to see her on your birthday. What a great present to have.

Remembering you

Joe, I cannot believe that it was 43 years ago that you were taken from us. I still miss you and think of you often. My heart is still broken. We lost our brother Jim recently and I feel more alone now. Mom is not good. I do the best that I can for her but it also breaks my heart. Mom still knows my wife and me but for how long no one knows. There is an emptiness that I feel about you that I cannot describe. Talking about you has kept you alive for me over the years. I wish so much I had the chance to know you better back when we were growing up. So many things I want to share with you but it breaks my heart not to be able to do that. I will always try and keep your memory alive as you were my hero. I miss you.

Your kid brother
