A friend

SSG Wentworth took me under his wing and taught me a lot. I was a your Sgt with the Recon Plt and would visit with him when I was in the rear. A brave man that loved his country and family. Any friends or famly contact me.

I will never, ever forget you.

I remember when we were in grammar, middle, and high school and my mom and dad were next door neighbors. so I have many memories of you. I remember the last time you came to say good bye to my family. I will never forget you, especially for your friendship and the sacrifice you made for our country.

Remembering an American Hero

Dear SSGT John Vester Wentworth, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say 'thank you'; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Never Forgotten

As rookie 'LT' John was my Platoon Sgt. Without him I would have never made it. A true soldier. All 'Alpha Avengers' remember John when we get together.
