From 1705 Mesa Vista NE to Viet Nam and Washington, DC
I have been in Washington for over 15 years. I run past the Wall practically every noon. Brian is in my thoughts each time I run past. Brian and I are fraternity brothers. In addition, I spent a few semesters in Navy ROTC with Brian, always thinking that he was the consummate Poster person for The Corps. I was in Viet Nam as a helicopter pilot for the Army, very close to Brian's location, when I heard of his death. A very sad day that I remember to this moment. I remember too the "better" times at the fraternity house, at the Aloha Ball, playing football in the front yard, and having an "occasional" beer in the back yard. Memories are wonderful, in large part because they do not die.

I was a baby the day you died but your name will forever live in my heart
Brian Lee Webber was a friend of my father at UNM. For years, my parents have worked to remember and honor him. I have my father's yearbook and I looked up Brian's picture. I became very curious as to who Brian was and what he was like. In 1995 I married a marine straight out of OCS and moved to Camp Pendelton, CA. This was the same base where I was born. A retired General Habel told me I could find Brian's sword on base. I can't remember the name of the building but I drove all over base looking for it. Since that time, I started working walking distance from Fort Rosecrans where Brian is buried. I looked up his parents phone number and asked if I could bring flowers to Brian's grave. I have done so for three years now. I made Brian my son's Guardian Angel. Travis knows all about Brian and what he did for this country. He knows Brian keeps a watchful eye on him from Heaven. I will do everything in my power to keep his spirit alive.
God Bless you Brian! May you continue to keep Travis out of harm's way. We love you.
