Mike graduated from Pleasant Gardens High School in 1966 not 1965 -- unless I am badly mistaken. He attended the Baptist Church at Pleasant Gardens and I was home on leave when he was buried. I attended the funeral because I graduated from P.G. in 1967 and was on my way to Vietnam. Mike was also a cousin which I really was not aware of until after he died. But McDowell County had a lot of people who were cousins to someone. Mike was a good guy. I don't remember him ever getting into a fight or having trouble with anyone. He was just well liked. I have some memories of his funeral which I will keep private except to say that Mike's death reflects how private citizens die to serve a purpose which we cannot always see or articulate.

Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Dear PFC Michael Webb, Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Thanksgiving is soon. Happy Thanksgiving. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
