Michael J Waterman Award Recipient

I am the Oakmont Regional Highscool 1984 Michael J Waterman award recipient. This award has been has been with me and on my mind since 1984. I am a Marine who served from 1984 to 1988 and the stepson of a soldier that was injured in Vietnam around the time Michael was serving. I wish I had met his parents in 1984.

Thank You

Dear PFC Michael Waterman, Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Yesterday your name was read at the wall. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. Veterans’ Day is in 2 days. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance, and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

You are remembered

I remember seeing your proud mother during the Westminster Memorial Day parades. After joining the Army in 1985, I would reflect on your devotion and sacrifice while seeking to live up to your example. Rest in peace, and eternal thanks for what you did to protect our nation.

Martin Hill

The 1st photo is Mike Waterman's best friend. They joined up the same day, on a buddy system, but we're separated after basic. He passed away a few yrs ago of Agent Orange. I want friends to remember Martin. We all graduated together in 1966. Love and miss them both. Your sister, Nance
