THE WALL OF FACES

Dear Cpl Robert Ward, Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart . Yesterday was Halloween. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I remember back in 61,our hard fought Track & Field Mile Race in which we both worked so hard to win! That was a two man Race with the rest of the pack 20 seconds behind us.At the finish of that Race two winners emerged,and six years later I read in the paper that you were a KIA casualty in Vietnam! After reading that article I was in disbelief.I remember how we pushed each other all the way to the finish line and there was only one winner that day,but we both knew there was TWO!

Robert, your brother was my Scoutmaster and you came on a campout with us 47 years ago. Today I am a Scoutmaster and all my Scouts know of your service and sacrifice. You were an inspiration to me when I was young. Know that you are still inspiring young men.
