Carl J. Wanner
I was fortunate enough to have met Carl ealy in his Air Force career. We quickly became close friends. We were stationed together at Burtonwood and Mildenhall, England. We went TDY together to Turkey and Lebenon. We met our future wives at about the same time in England. Carl's wife Madeline, was from Manchester and my wife Cecilia (Gardner) is from Liverpool. At our wedding in 1959, Carl was our Best Man. The last time I spoke with Carl was just before he went to Vietnam. He and Madeline are thought of often and still greatly missed. May God rest both of their souls.

MAY 18, 1969 I REMEMBER
I knew Carl because I trained him on the C-123's at Phan Rang.
When Carl arrived in the squadron he bought my tape recorder and we became good friends.
I remember the day their plane was blown out of the sky.
God bless you my friend.
My memories of you will remain with me FOREVER.
Rest easily Carl.
