Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Paul F Branyan Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

A tribute to Paul F. Branyan Jr.

I know there were many during the Vietnam War who, like Paul Branyan, unselfishly put their lives on the line and paid the ultimate price. I feel a special bond with Paul in knowing we both served our country during a time when our country needed us. Paul paid the ultimate price by giving his life for his country at a very young age. While many stayed home and/or protested Paul served his country with honor. I thank him for his courageous and valiant service. To Paul's family and friends know that his spirit is alive and his memory is not forgotten by those who were his comrades in arms. I remember Paul and all those like him whenever I sing the words "land of the free and the home of the brave".
