Thank you for your service as a Hospitalman with the 3rd Marine Amphibious Force. Semper Fi. Thanks for the lives you saved. Independence Day is approaching, and it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I say I knew "Joe", because that's what I knew him as in high school at Lincoln Northeast. He was a year ahead of me and graduated in 1965. Apparently "Joe" was his middle name. We volunteered together by playing music over some sort of a system at the Veterans Hospital here in Lincoln. Rest in peace, Joe.

David, after all these years I still remember. You are not forgotten and our memories of you keep you forever in our hearts. Sadness remains for all you did not get to do .
