Remeberance

I lived across the street from Nickie. He was always good to me. Kind. Like a big brother. I remember when my mother got the phone call.

Nicky I will ALWAYS REMEMBER

In memory of Nicky, a sweet, compassionate guy, who was my first crush. He was just 18, I was 9 when he gave his beautiful life for our country. I remember you, Nicky.

Fall of a friend

In another time, in another place. Smiles of a friend that passed to soon. Visited the wall in February 2017 and cried a bit when I got to the end. There near the wet turf engraved in the stone was the name that reminds me of the losses to so many families and friends. I thank God that he allowed me to do my service time somewhere other than in-country but I remember the moment that I was able to get off the plane headed to Vietnam when I knew that most everyone else was headed to a life changing event. RIP Nick.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Nicholas Samue Vrankovich, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
