honoring you.....

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just one day before your 20th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You

Dear Lcpl Richard Volk, Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Cannoneer. I researched you on the 54th anniversary of the start of your tour. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Columbus Day weekend. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.

I remember

Rest In Peace Marine. I remember you as a 13 year old boy that loved to torment your sisters. I was dating Gladys at the time, in fact I introduced her to her future husband. Gladys and you are together once again. You will never be forgotten.

RIP Richard

I was there when Richard, Doc Baldwin, and Johnson were killed, it was the worst day of my tour. Richard was an amazing Marine and was a great loss to our unit, the Marine Corps, and the country. He is still in my mind after 52 years.
