Touched your name

It took me all this time to summon the strength to visit The Wall and touch your name. Forty five years since I returned from Nam and you'd think I'd have been emotionally prepared by now, but I knelt before your name overwhelmed. I remembered our elementary school years at Holy Family, and the chance encounters we had at the U of M. Not all that much history as friendships go, but the impressions you left were profound. I am honored to have known you. Forgive me for taking so long to say so.

Peace with Honor

You were one of the brave that answered the call. You honored us by your service and sacrifice. We now honor you each time we stand and sing the words “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE”. Rest in Peace and Honor John.

Memories

Kim and I went through basic together at Ft. Campbell, KY, and I remember him well. We were both married and our wives were both pregnant at the time. He was a good man.
