Photo remembrance of David Arnold Uecker
The picture was provided by Herb Reckinger Jr. of Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Thank you Herb!
David, it is with great humility, pride and honor that Herb and I post this remembrance for you and upload your photo so that your memory and the sacrifice you made for your country will never be forgotten and to ensure your photo will be displayed on your birthday each and every year when the Education Center is completed. You are not forgotten and remain in the hearts of many after all these years. Thank you David for being who you were and for all you did. We live in freedom to this day thanks to heroes like you that answered the call to duty.
You were one of the brave that answered the call. You honored us by your service and sacrifice. We now honor you each time we stand and sing the words “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE”. Rest in Peace and Honor David.

Local Hero
I am a student at Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School. Today we had a speaker from the war in Vietnam and he encouraged us to learn all we could about it. So, I picked David. He is from my hometown. He is a local hero. I sincerely want to thank you for your service to our country. Thank you!

Remembrance of a Veteran
Hi, I'm Hannah Marschel from Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted high school. Today we had a guest speaker who was in the Vietnam War, and I just wanted to say thank you for serving our country. It means a lot knowing men and women everyday give up their lives just so the rest of us can be free. Thank you!

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP4 David Arnold Uecker, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
