He is forever on my mind.
It has been many years but he has been always on my mind. Jasper was a great guy. Last time I talked with him was in Connell at the Sadie Hawkins dance. He is missed by many.

Final Mission of SP4 Jasper H. Trusley Jr.
On June 9, 1969, a convoy of A and D Companies, 27th Engineer Battalion (Combat), were head to Gia Le on Route 547 when they were ambushed by elements of the North Vietnamese Army ten miles southwest of Nam Hoa in Thua Thien Province, RVN. In the engagement, ten enemy were killed and several weapons were captured, including one 12.7mm anti-aircraft gun, five AK-47’s, one RPG-7, and one M79 grenade launcher. Both A and D Companies suffered three killed and sixteen wounded. The three lost Americans were (from A Company) SP4 Jasper H. Trusley Jr., and (from D Company) PVT Robert W. Long and PFC Donald R. My name is John Hall and I was in his Physical ed class in Pasco Washington's McGloughlin Jr. High. I remember him well.
