We knew WO Delmas S. Townsend

He was known to us as "Del" by Sergeant and Mrs. George Hayner. We met when he and George served at Ford Barracks, Ulm, W. Germany, 1962-65. George was so proud of Del when he qualified for helicopter training. George passed away July 24, 2020 at the age of 84. I know that these two friends met at least once while they were with 1st CAV in Nam. George and I visited The Wall and made a rubbing of Del's name. I still have that strip of paper. It is honored to be shown among our family's military history memorabilia, with my daddy's Great War helmet, my brothers' service photos from WW2, MSG(Ret) George H. Hayner's photo with CIB attached, our son's AF photo, our granddaughter's AF photo as well as my own military photo, MSG(Ret) Dorothy R. Hayner, ARNG.

Thank You

Dear WO Delmas Townsend, Thank you for your service as a Utility & Light Cargo Single Rotor Helicopter Pilot. I researched you on your 80th birthday, happy birthday. Saying thank you isn't enough, but it is from the heart. It is Agent Orange Awareness Month. Time passes quickly. Please watch over America, it still needs your strength, courage, guidance and faithfulness, especially now. Rest in peace with the angels.
