My friend, Jerry Boyles

Jerry, I think of you often and remember what a sweet, shy guy you were in high school. You were always there for me and I loved you for it. I hope to see you again one day. I hope you will remember me fondly. RIP my friend.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP4 Jerry Lee Boyles, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

With Jerry the day he died

I was in the same platoon as Jerry. I thought the world of him. A great positive fun guy. I was crushed when he got killed. I was with him, I helped carry him to a chopper. We tried in vein to keep him alive but couldn't. I grieve then and I grieve now for Jerry. He was special.
